The world is given, ordered and called good; human beings carry dignity.
God binds himself to promises; relationship, not just rules.
Loss of home and belonging, and the grief and identity questions that follow.
Rescue and buying back — from slavery, debt, sin and despair.
Compassion given where it is not earned or deserved.
Fair courts, honest weights, protection of the poor, an end to exploitation.
Practical skill in living well: speech, money, friendship, work, restraint.
Trust that keeps walking without full certainty or full understanding.
Expectation of good that has not arrived yet, held without denial of reality.
Committed care shown in action, including toward enemies.
Releasing a debt; it does not require restoring unsafe trust.
Turning around — changed direction, not just regret.
Named honestly throughout Scripture; never treated as proof of worthlessness.
A repeated concern of law, prophets and Jesus; never a moral verdict on a person.
A responsibility and a spiritual danger, not a sign of divine approval.
Systems and rulers that crush people; consistently condemned.
Held to account; shepherds who feed themselves are rebuked.
Honest communication, including complaint, silence and gratitude.
Response to God, hollow when disconnected from justice and mercy.
Costly giving; Christians read the cross through this language in varied ways.
Life beyond death; central to Christian hope.
Life with God, described as beginning now rather than only later.
Faith practised together — shared meals, shared money, shared burdens.
Welcome for strangers, migrants and people with nowhere to go.
Doing the right thing while afraid, often in small repeated steps.
Steadiness with anger, appetite, speech and impulse; practised, not instant.
Honesty about yourself and reality, including uncomfortable truth.
Not merely calm; wholeness, safety and repaired relationships.
Many Christians understand this spiritually and morally: resisting lies, temptation, injustice, hatred, despair and destructive behaviour. It should never be used to see neighbours, healthcare workers, family members, support staff, governments or strangers as demons or secret agents of evil. If your thinking is moving that way, pause and talk to a health professional or trusted support person.
The promise that harm, grief and death do not get the final word.
